On Thursday, starting at 9:30 p.m. in London (Great Britain), the Lithuanian men's basketball team will begin a new stage - qualifying for the 2027 World Championship in Qatar. Rimas Kurtinaitis' team will face an English challenge. The match will be broadcast live from London by LRT television.
After this duel, the Lithuanian basketball team will travel to Klaipėda, where on Sunday they will face the formidable Italian team at the Švyturys Arena. The match starts at 6:30 p.m.
Aida Aleksandrovienė, director of the Klaipėda Švyturys Arena, told Vakarų Ekspres on Thursday morning that interest in these matches is truly great.
"There are only 500 tickets left and they are selling fast. So, basketball fans who want to see the stars of the Italian and Lithuanian basketball teams up close and feel the unique basketball atmosphere, we invite you to hurry up and purchase your tickets," urged A. Aleksandrovienė.
So, 5000 seats have already been taken and it is likely that all tickets will be sold out by Sunday and the Švyturys Arena will be packed.

The Lithuanian national team will feature two players from Klaipėda – Laurynas Beliauskas and Artūras Gudaitis, who will be wearing the jersey of our national team after a long break, as well as Arnas Veličkas, a well-known player from Neptūna, and basketball players who previously played for Neptūna – Ignas Sargiūnas and Gytis Masiulis.
Other members of the Lithuanian national team: Mantas Rubštavičius, Paulius Danusevičius, Martynas Paliukėnas, Gytis Radzevičius, Kristupas Žemaitis and Marek Bleževičius.
