Klaipėda's Neptūnas-Amberton basketball team will play the fourth match of Group G of the European Cup tournament at Klaipėda's Švyturys Arena on Wednesday. This time, their opponents are the Swiss Nion Basket Féminin team.
The match starts at 19 p.m. Previously, the Neptūnas-Amberton basketball players played two European Cup tournament matches at the Palanga Sports Center arena due to other events held at the Švyturys arena, so the international tournament returns to Klaipėda and a large support from our citizens is expected.
Admission to this match is free (go through club entrance No. 3).
The Neptunians defeated the latter Swiss team away with a score of 81:65.
So, this match will begin the second round of Group G of the European Cup tournament.
"Neptūnas-Amberton" is in second place in the tournament table with 1 win and 2 losses, while the Swiss are also in fourth place with 1 win and 2 losses.
Klaipėda is currently ranked second because they have the best ratio of points scored and points conceded in head-to-head matches.
Before this European Cup match, the Klaipėda team received a lesson in Vilnius at the Lithuanian Women's Basketball League (Open Smart Way MLKL) championship - they lost 55:88 to the Vilnius "Kibirkšties-TOKS" team, coached by Klaipėda native Vilius Stanišauskas.
"It's hard to talk when you see a result like this. You can watch every minute of this match and you will find something to learn both in attack and defense," said Martynas Airošius, head coach of Neptūnas-Amberton, after this duel.
