The Queen's Cup, the largest women's basketball tournament in Lithuania, returns to Klaipėda in the spring after a three-year break, writes women's league.lt.

The basketball festival, which has lasted two days for the past two years, is changing its format and this year will take place in one day – March 7th at the Švyturys Arena.

The four strongest teams in Division A will first compete in the Queen's Cup semifinals, consisting of one match, at the home arenas of the teams that finished higher in the regular season.

The clubs that will occupy the first four positions in the tournament table after two rounds of the MLKL A division regular season will gain the right to play in the tournament. This will be officially announced on March 1.

“I am extremely happy that the Queen's Cup will be held in Klaipėda for the third time and that we will see both teams from the port city in the tournament,” said MLKL Director Alvydas Jocys. “We feel the city's great involvement in this event and the desire to highlight the wonderful annual women's basketball festival as much as possible.

We invite fans to mark this date in their calendars in advance and to come to the Švyturys Arena, not only to Klaipėda residents, but also to all women's basketball lovers from other cities, and thus loudly contribute to supporting the teams."

Throughout the history of the Queen's Cup, this tournament has already been held in the port city twice - in 2020 at the Švyturys Arena and in 2023 at the Michealsen Center.

The tournament's small final will start on March 7 at 2 p.m., followed by the league's best marksmen competing in the sniper competition, and the grand final will begin at 6:30 p.m.
