The Lithuanian girls' youth team (up to 20 years old) in Šilute has started preparations for the European Championship of its age group, which will be held in Vilnius and Klaipėda from July 29 to August 6.
On July 19, our team will already settle in Klaipėda, and on July 26, they will play a control match against the Portuguese national team.
The Lithuanian national team will also start the official matches at the Švyturios Arena in Klaipėda. In Group B of the first stage, ours will be played on July 29. will meet the Hungarian team on July 30 - with France, and on August 1 - with Finland. All these matches will start at 18:XNUMX.
"It means a lot to me that the championship will take place not only in Lithuania, but also in Klaipėda - my hometown. Back in the season, I mentioned that one of my dreams was to coach the youth team. Now I have my first chance and everything coincided so that we will play at home. This is a special thing," said M. Airošius, the head coach of the Lithuanian national team and the women's team of the port city "Neptūnos".
The national teams of Portugal, Israel, Serbia and the Czech Republic will compete in Group A of the European Championship, which will also be played in Klaipėda. After the first stage matches, on August 2, the teams of groups A and B will play each other in the round of XNUMX.
